Hornets Beat Up The Phoenix Suns For The Sixth Straight Time

Posted: December 4, 2008 in Hornets

After sweeping the four game series with the Suns last, the Hornets are on track of doing the same thing this year as they beat Phoenix at the Hive last night 104-91. The Bees started hot finishing off the first quarter 35-21. Then the bench came in and, throwing off the rhythm, allowed Phoenix to sneak back into the game. The halftime score was 51-50 Hornets. The third quarter started much like the first quarter ended before Phoenix made yet another run to catch up. Peja, not about ready to lose after his team built up huge leads on two different occasions, drilled a three, putting the Hornets up 12 points with under 5 minutes left to go in the game 96-84. They would close it out from here.

Chris Paul extended his steal streak last night making him only the second player in NBA history to have at least one steal in 100 straight regular season games. He is just 5 games shy of the all time record of 105 put up by Alvin Robertson. David West had a career high point total, and Rasual Butler made his 5th start for the injured Morris Peterson. The Hornets are 10-6 and look to improve the Memphis Grizzles come to town.
