Hornets Improve To 3-0 After Downing Cavs At The Hive

Posted: November 3, 2008 in Hornets

In front of a sellout crowd which was in excess of 18,000 fans, the Hornets continued to roll behind Chris Paul, David West, Hilton Armstrong in place of the injured Tyson Chandler, and defensive beast and 3-baller James Posey. This game, much like the first two games of the season, was close throughout; that is until the second half of the fourth quarter when the Hornets, particularly James Posey turned it up defensively and turned off LeBron James. The Bees were able to find a ten point lead on the Cavs, something they didn’t have all night by virtue of that defense and big clutch 3 point shots.

This win wraps up a 3 game series against really good playoff teams. The Hornets will play the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night, giving them some rest, which wouldn’t hurt right about now.

David West led with 25 points, Chris Paul dropped 24, James Posey had 15 off the bench, Rasual Butler had 14, Hilton Armstrong put in 8, Morris Peterson had 5, and Melvin Ely and Devin Brown dropped 6 and 7 points respectively off the bench.
