Voodoo Beat Orlando in Home Opener

The New Orleans Voodoo made up for a loss in their season opener to Los Angeles with big win Sunday vs. the division rival Orlando Predators. Needing only an extra point to tie the game and force overtime, Jay Gruden decides to play for the win and go for 2.  That’s when Keon Raymond, a newcomer to the Voodoo defense, deflected an endzone pass, which would have given Orlando the win and instead gave it to the Voodoo. Raymond also came up big with his interception on the 25 yard line (yes, that’s midfield) when the Voodoo were trailing by 6. The win moves the Voodoo to 1-1 and good enough for 2nd place in the Southern Division. They are behind next week’s opponent, the Tampa Bay Storm, who are 2-0. Meanwhile, Orlando falls to 0-2 and shares the bottom spot with the Georgia Force who are also 0-2.
